Forsaken, based in Manchester, is an ongoing project that I began in October 2023. It focuses on forgotten places, objects and people as well as the brutal street.

I created my own typeface for this project, using photographs of letters and numbers that I found on the streets in graffiti, road signs and posters. The typeface is a representation of the visual language of the street, a mix of order and chaos.

This sequence focused on the keywords ‘Time, Memory, Loss and Deprived’.

A significant amount of the focus in this project is on the concept that forsaken is almost a tribute to the forgotten buildings, areas and objects that have been left to rot. By photographing them, they are no longer just orphaned objects, but have been used to make an image that I will have with me for the foreseeable future.
